Residential House Dolder (Widen/ Switzerland)

The house is situated on a steep slope facing south. Its many-stored construction, unusual for most of Peter Vetsch’s buildings, accommodates itself to the angular site. The integration of Bruno Weber sculptures (Sculpture Park Spreitenbach is nearby) is striking. Pillars in the form of fabled animals support the arched ceilings.
The sprayed concrete structure is insulated with polyurethane foam.

Tschuggen Grand Hotel (Arosa/ Switzerland)

The Tschuggen Grand Hotel is a multi-award winning luxury hotel high in the snow-capped Graubünden Mountains. The Bergoase (mountain oasis) spa facility by Swiss star architect Mario Botta is a distinctive feature of the hotel as well as it's own private railway.

Earth House Estate Lättenstrasse (Dietikon/ Switzerland)

These earth covered houses - designed by Peter Vetsch - are grouped around a small artificial lake with the entrance hidden and integrated at the side of the settlement.
There's nine different sized houses, varying from 3 to 7 bedrooms.
To maximize use of natural light the daytime areas are situated towards the south whereas the bedrooms are towards the north. In the middle, you find the bathrooms and the connecting stairs to the basement, which also has a subterranean parking lot. The bathrooms get natural light through rooftop windows.
The basement, as well as the parking lot is built with conventional techniques, whereas the rest of the structures is constructed with the typical earth home construction principle of sprayed concrete. The isolation consists of recycled glass and on top is a protective layer of earth, which can be used to grow grass or plants on the rooftop.

HR Giger Bar (Gruyères/ Switzerland)

There are currently 2 Giger Bars in Switzerland: One in in Chur (opened in 1992) and the second is The Museum HR Giger Bar in Château St. Germain, Gruyères which is shown in these photos.

Created by Swiss artist H. R. Giger - best known for his design work in the "Alien" movies - both bars are a work of art. Vaulted ceilings are covered in a crisscross of double arches of vertebrae and other skeletal structures. Walls, floors, fittings, tables and chairs are all modeled by the artist in the style of his acclaimed ‘Alien’ biomechanical environment and character designs.

Schtroumph Buildings (Geneva/ Switzerland)

The Schtroumph Buildings are a block of smurf inspired apartments on Rue Louis-Favre 23 - 29, Geneva. The somewhat Gaudi-esque abodes were built by the city between 1982 and 1984.

The Blur Building (Yverdon-les-Bains/ Switzerland)

The Blur Building was constructed in 2002 for a Swiss Expo. The primary construction material is water, pumped up from the lake below and emitted into the air by over 30,000 high pressure nozzles. Once inside, the low hum of the nozzles emitting the water vapor into the air blocks out all sound from the outside and visitors are left with a sense of nothingness.

Residential House Vetsch (Dietikon/ Switzerland)

Positioned on the southern edge of Dietikon, on a sloping piece of property with view of Zurich to the west. The circular ground plan and dome-like form represent a prototype of the building model which Peter Vetsch then further developed and differentiated. It is a one-story building with a basement.
Conventional structural elements are still apparent. The wall partitions of the ground floor are still made of brick, and the exterior wall of prefabricated elements are arranged in a circle and filled with concrete. An armature jutting from the basement roof supports the wire basket which rests on the brick partition walls of the basement, and once covered with sprayed concrete, forms the exterior shell. The exterior insulation consists of a 7-10 cm layer sprayed polyurethane.

Church of St John (Mogno/ Switzerland)

This church was designed by Swiss architect Mario Botta.
