Bavarian Clone Town in America (Leavenworth/ Washington)

To avoid economic ruin, the town of Leavenworth - once an important logging hub - decided to transform itself into a Bavarian lookalike village in the 1960ies. Blessed with a stunning mountain landscapeand heaps of snow in winter the conditions were perfect.
Today Leavenworth is a favourite with tourists & hosts festivals such as the annual Oktoberfest and has a buzzing Christmas period.

The Walker Rock Garden (Seattle/ Washington)

This unique rock garden took the Walker family 20 years to complete. It was open to the public for limited viewing times but after the passing away of the owners the house has been sold and its future is unsure.
It's located at 5407 37th Ave SW, West Seattle.

The Junk Castle (Whitman County/ Washington)

The Junk Castle was built by former art teacher Victor Moore and his wife Bobbie. It is constructed from many different items, including sheet metal, tin, washing machine parts, dryer doors, miscellaneous housings, bedsteads, and even the door from a 1952 Oldsmobile.

Redmond Treehouse (Redmond/ Washington)

Steve Rondel's children grew up before he could finish this exeptional treehouse. He started it 20 years ago when his oldest son was 5. Now he is looking for grandchildren to give him an excuse to push on.

Storybook House (Olalla/ Washington)

The "Storybook House" was built in the 1980ies by Richey & Karen Morgan as an homage to classic fairy tales.

Washington D.C. Temple (Washington D.C.)

This Mormon temple bears a resemblance to the Emerald City, which in 1973 caused someone to paint "Surrender Dorothy" on the girders of a railroad bridge that crosses the Beltway. To drivers approaching the Temple from the east, the words appeared like a caption under the building. The Maryland State Police removed the message, which has been repainted from time to time.

Expierience Music Project (Seattle/ Washington)

The Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame is a museum dedicated to the history and exploration of both popular music and science fiction located in Seattle, Washington.
The Frank Gehry-designed museum building is located on the campus of the Seattle Center, adjacent to the Space Needle and the Seattle Center Monorail, which runs through the building.
