Abandoned Art Nouveau Mansion (Sukhumi/ Georgia)

In the historic city of Sukhumi in Abkhazia (a territory in western Georgia) there's this beautiful abandoned Art Nouveau mansion. It has 4 floors (the fourth is located almost directly under the roof) featuring gorgeous curved doors & windows, wrought iron balconies and a stunning view towards the Black Sea.

Overgrown abandoned railway stations (Sukhumi & Gagra/ Georgia)

These beautiful abandoned railway stations are located in the towns of Sukhumi & nearby Gagra, Abkhazia(former Russian territory), Georgia . After the collapse of the USSR the railway connection of Abkhazia and Russia stopped and unused railway stations like this one were left for nature to take over.

The Katskhi Pillar (Chiatura /Georgia)

The Katskhi Pillar is a 130 feet high limestone monolith outside of Chiatura, Georgia. Also called the Pillar of Life by locals it symbolizes the True Cross and is surrounded by legends. On top is a small church built by monks in the 9th or 10th century, who then abandoned it around 1300. Then it remained unclimbed and unsurveyed until 1944.
Today visitors get to the top by climbing a 130 foot ladder but no one knows for sure how the monks got to the top of the pillar or indeed how they carried the building materials up thousands of years ago.

Wedding Palace (Tbilisi/ Georgia)

The Wedding Palace was built in 1984 (designed by Victor Djorbenadzeas)as a church and venue for weddings. In 2001 it was purchased by the oligarch Badri Patarkatsishvili for use as his personal residence.

Bank of Georgia headquarters (Tbilisi/ Georgia)

The Bank of Georgia headquarters was built in 1975. It lies in the outskirts of Tbilisi at the river Kura. Big parts of the building are lifted off the ground and the structure is visible from far. It consists of a monumental grid of interlocking concrete forms. Five horizontal parts with two storeys each seem to be stapled on top of each other.
