Gerald Decock's Colourful Hippie Heaven New York Chelsea Hotel

Hair stylist and visual artist Gerald DeCock lives in a rooftop apartment of the Chelsea hotel in New York City.
The space is a colourful explosion of art, beaded curtains, eclectic furniture and various embellishments and decorations. The apartment also has a much cared for rooftop garden with views over the city.

The Williamsburg home of Paige Stevenson & Ahnika Meyera is a 21st-century cabinet of curiosities in the form of a 2,000-square-foot loft.
The whole place is decorated with miscellaneous objects, ranging from family treasures to things found at junk yards, abandoned factories and on the street. The living room area features a wall of neatly arranged farm tools and other metal pieces.
A raised platform in the living room serves as a jungle garden.

A porch near the New Hamburg train station in New York is occupied by strange mannequins dressed in 20ies fashion. Their number, position, and theme, vary from day to day. A number of quirky (creepy) objects accompany the dolls on the porch.

"Neighbours don’t seem to know anything about the current owners of the house, built in 1845. The Greek Revival wood frame structure is one of the only surviving structures on the block from an 1877 fire. At night, a kitchen light can be seen through the drape covering the front door. A vegetable garden is kept in the backyard. On many rainy days, the dolls disappear into the quarters of the paint-pealed home. In 1871, a train wreck occurred amidst a two-week record-breaking cold wave in which 22 people were killed less than two hundred feet away from the house."

The Night Heron was an invitation-only nightclub held illegally in a water tower atop a vacant building in Chelsea.
It was accessable by a ladder after walking though an abandoned building. Before the nightclub shut it's trapdoor and moved on New York Times photographer Benjamin Norman captured the unique atmosphere.

Storybook Cottage is a privately sited romantic gem nestled on 8.76 acres of mature forest, 90 miles North of the city, a ten minute drive from Rhinebeck.
It features Gaudi-inspired stonework in and out and wooden floors of cherry, ash, and Brazilian slate.

This psychedelic work of colour is the home of Katwise (Kat O'Sullivan). Her and her partner were two struggling creatives living in Brooklyn when they decided to leave the city and buy a run down house on 16 acres of forest land in Cottekill. $1000 worth of paint later they transformed the house into the mind blowing rainbow Candyland that it is today.

"NYC’s Abandoned City Hall Subway Station is closed to the public, accessible only during a very rare tour or an illegal entry. It was first closed in 1945, opened just once for public viewing since."

The Mushroom House was built between 1970 and 1972 and is situated in Powder Mills Park. It was originally constructed to resemble Queen Anne's Lace for attorney and artist couple Robert and Marguerite Antell. It is designated as a town landmark and has been featured on national television shows.

The current owners purchased 142 Park Road in February of 2012 for $799,900. They are a doctor couple who split their practice between Rochester and Maryland.
